Product Name:   Bluetooth Testing
Model Number:   Extended Interoperability Testing

The Bluetooth® specification is written such that manufacturers can build the products in a way which is conformant to the specification, but not necessarily interoperable seamlessly with other device implementations. In addition, the specification gives less importance to usability and performance.

From an average user’s point of view, it is not enough if two products are technically interoperable, but this should be possible within a reasonable amount of time and effort. Often times, the features which are available in the devices are not intuitively accessible to end-users. The Bluetooth® SIG Qualification testing does not have any requirements in such areas.

Minor differences in products due to ambiguous specifications and misinterpretations of specifications are often unavoidable. The best way to find the level of interoperability lies in testing the products against several counterpart products. This is currently not done during Bluetooth® SIG Qualification testing.

To address these issues, CETECOM offers extended interoperability testing through testing the products against several counterpart products. This user-oriented testing tackles the weaknesses in qualification and provides a path to:

- Seamless interoperability with other devices
- Usability and performance
- High quality products
