More and more, parents are providing their kids with mobile phones for safety and security. But many parents want to put limits on how those phones are used. With Parent Patrol™, they can define limitations and restrictions on mobile phone usage as part of their service bundle.
Restrictions can be based on the time of day, type of usage, and numbers specified on a blacklist. They can also specify “white list” numbers to which the restrictions do not apply – such as emergency services and the parent’s home or mobile numbers.
For example, consider a family of four with two school-age children (John and Mary). Their family plan gives them a pool of 1000 shared minutes. The parents can use Parent Patrol™ to configure the plan in the following manner:
?? John has a monthly limit of 200 minutes, and Mary, who is younger, has 150 minutes.
?? The children can make phone calls only during the hours of 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.
?? The children can not send text messages (SMS) during school hours (8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.)
?? The children can call the parents, their home

Parent Patrol™ provides controls and features similar to prepaid plans, with important enhancements. The ability to add prepaid semantics to postpaid services may encourage the migration of prepaid users to postpaid plans – which typically lead to higher ARPU returns.
